Ofelia Jarl Ortega - StM 2019

20 min, dance

In StM the border between performer and spectator is not a divide but an opening. It’s a place to talk about the evasive. It’s a space that pulses, yields and gives the spectator’s gaze a body.

Jarl Ortega examines the dramaturgy of the gaze as choreographic material and its potential as a tool of power, where the dancer’s voluntary objectification questions the participation of the observer.
